Temple University Presidential Humanities and Arts Research Program
2016 Program Announcement
February 5, 2016

The Office of the Vice President for Research Administration (OVPR) invites proposals for the 2016 Temple University Presidential Humanities and Arts Research Program (PHA) to support programs or projects in the arts and humanities. A maximum of $250,000 will be made available in this cycle, with awards of up to $15,000 for individual projects and $30,000 for collaborative projects available. All full-time faculty members with a scholarly or artistic work in the arts and humanities are eligible to apply for this fund. Funding is available for both new and continuing projects; however, new requests to this program will be prioritized for consideration. There is no limit on the number of applications sent from each School or College.

Applications may be submitted on or before March 1, 2016. The notification of the receipt of an award will take place on or before April 30, 2016. Funds may be used for a two-year period of time. Any funds not used during that time period will be returned to the program.

The fund supports creative, scholarly activities that have the potential to drive external gifts, foundation funding, donations, and grant competitiveness of the individual or team. Eligible projects for this program include: publications, performances, films, artistic or museum installations, digital arts and humanities projects, and other arts or humanities works. Proposals may be discipline specific or interdisciplinary in nature. The budget can fund salary, supplies, travel, production costs, and events costs.
