Temple University offers undergraduate and graduate students many opportunities to work direcetly with leading researchers in various field. Below are internal research and resources opportunities offered to students. 

College of Science and Technology

SCIENCE SCHOLARS PROGRAM

A program for highly qualified CST students who demonstrate a passion in science or technology as they pursue their undergraduate degrees and prepare for graduate/professional school with a focus on research. Students will participate in research each semester starting their second semester freshman year with opportunities to work with multiple research faculty, graduate students, and professional mentors throughout their time at Temple. The first summer research project must be completed with a faculty member in the College of Science and Technology.

Diamond Research Scholars Program (--Updated 4/01/2020)

The Diamond Research Scholars Program provides Temple undergraduates the opportunity to engage in a focused, mentored research or creative arts project during the summer and fall.  The program requires that students participate in the two-day Undergraduate Research Institute, devote ten weeks during the summer to develop a research project in their area of interest under the direction of their faculty mentor, and complete the project during the fall semester while registered for an independent study/research course. Diamond Research Scholars receive a $4000 stipend for the 10 week summer program.

Creative Arts, Research, and Scholarship Program (CARAS)
Application deadline: October 15th and March 15th annually
The Creative Arts, Research And Scholarship (CARAS) Program makes two types of grants:  Research/Creative Project Grants and Travel Grants.  Research/Creative Project Grants provide undergraduate and professional students grants of up to $4,000 in support of scholarly, research or creative arts projects undertaken with the supervision of a Temple faculty mentor.  Travel Grants provide funding support for undergraduate travel to conferences to present original research or creative work.  The maximum Project Grant award is $4,000; maximum Travel Grant award is $1,000. Requests may be modified based on an assessment of the budget proposal and/or the availability of resources.
